I figured if I can't do an easy simple healthy recipe, then forget all this low sodium low fat no white flour nonsense and I'm going to have FONDUUUUUUUE! My doctor won't have a chance to kill me; I'll kill me first! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahaha

..where was I? Oh yeah. Since I had to go to the grocery store anyway, I got eggs and flour too.

we just had a yummy dinner - leg of lamb, some ginger carrots w/little almonds and lemon peel from Trader Joe's, and fresh asparagus. Doesn't get much better for that. On tap for later, a pomegrante martini, complete with martini glasses! woo hoo! My class ended today, have just one more before being DONE with this program. Yahoo!

I'm a believer in everything in moderation. As long as you're not fonduing on a regular basis, it shouldn't kill you. Well, unless you set your house ablaze while doing it.

my mom cleaned out her garage this weekend and found in one of the boxes the fondue set they got as a wedding present back in 1964. i'm like "that is so mine..."

Darn. I think we got rid of all our fondue pots years ago. When we used to do fondue 'parties' I think we had about eight pots going - two oil, one stock, three cheese and two chocolate.

One thing I've been doing lately (since it is cheap, easy and somewhat filling) is to take some Winco Cannonball bread loaves, cut them into about 3/4" slices, drizzle with some olive oil, put them on one of my Pampered Chef pieces (bar pan, cookie stone or pizza stone), toast them in a 400° ovenfor about seven minutes, turn them over, drizzle with some more olive oil, place a slice of cheese on it, pop it back into the oven for about seven minutes or until the cheese has melted somewhat.

Yummy.

If you want, I'll post my recipe for Maple Glazed Grilled Salmon.

If you want to try to grab invite [livejournal.com profile] hitchhiker for dinner while he's here, maybe fondue would be a good option. :)

Many cheers for FONDUE!

Plus, it has calcium. And you need calcium. You don't want to get osteoporosis, you know.
