How do you get out of doing all those supremely annoying not-a-robot puzzles on this site? The user experience is hideous now. If this keeps up I don't think it'll be long before I won't be back.

?! that's weird, I've never had to do a CAPTCHA to log in. Does anyone have more advice?

It offers them to me when I am logged in and I do something like click on a comments link.

It's related to DW moving away from Cloudflare - if you're using a VPN, that may be part of it.

Thank you!! This is super info. I may not be able to avoid sometimes using a VPN, at least if I want to bop over here from the work computer sometimes, but that would explain why it hasn’t affected my phone…

(Edit: Am also getting a lot of the 403s mentioned in the first comment there.)

If you're using a browser on your phone and not a client app, that's another chalk mark in the "depends on VPN use or IP address and may be related to the recent move from That CDN" column, I think.

Yeah, there is no client app for phones AFAIK (which I suspect is a barrier for a lot of people -- this site on a mobile browser is not all that fun). Chalk marks are very much piling up in that column.

I don't ever see them. I do stay logged in, as possible, but have to log in again periodically on the rare occasions I come on from my phone.

It makes sense if it's due to the move away from Cloudflare.
