You know you're in trouble when they accept your offer. :-)

You laugh, but my friends in Belmont rent DVDs from a place that places stickers in the DVD cases reminding people to rewind their movies.

(No other message appears on the stickers, but I'm guessing their active
inventory tags or some such, I don't really think they're that stupid.)

Yep, I laugh, and I laugh at that place in Belmont too. :)

I love the web site's claim that it's "the fastest" DVD rewinder available. :-)

Because you know, we wouldn't want a slow one! Horrors!

*giggle*

And you DEFINITELY don't want one whose "in progress" sound can't be customized. In fact, I think they should sell ring tones for DVD rewinders. *snicker*

I understand it's a "rewinder", but do you know if it can "fast forward" as well? I couldn't find any technical specs on their site because this whole new web thing just confuses me. I suppose I could make it "fast forward" if I fliped the DVD over and rewound the other side, but I'm a little afraid all my movies would turn inside out.

It would be nice if they made a portable one as well. Maybe they could integrate it with a cellphone/digital camera/pda/mp3 player/guitar tuner with an optional bluetooth or 802.11g module for short range wireless connectivity. Maybe a GPS device as well. Oh! And have it be a universal remote. I need one of those too.

Yeah! I might buy three or four!

I have no idea about all these things. I'm still trying to figure out if it will rewind an audio CD or whether I'll hurt my CD somehow. What if it's not compatible?

Ooooo. Good point! You probably need a different device for audio CDs, or maybe DVD rewinders work on audio CDs, but not the other way around; I keep forgetting.

Another thing to watch out for is rewinding a disc that is already rewound. Overwinding could have similar effects to overwinding my watch (yes, my watch is digital - I use my fingers to wind it). Now, maybe this device has a rewind regulator, but if it doesn't I think you could end up over-rewinding a disc which could build up enough tension that it might explode in a sudden release of undirected energy, possibly damaging the disc, the rewinder, or possibly even bystanders.
