I'm up and about. Less pain than I expected. Coughing hurts the incisions, typing hurts where the IV went, most else is fine. I did get a video. I have not heard anything about what they found inside -- my surgeon was gone by the time I was conscious.
Lots of cool things. Got my first ride in a wheelchair.
More later.

I have to get someone to narrate it to me. I haven't looked yet, but I'm told that a laparoscopy video can be pretty incomprehensible to the non-medically-trained.

For coughing have you tried "hugging" a pillow? I know it sounds corny but trust me it helps cut down on the pain.
Rest up and make friends with the couch for a couple of days.
*gentle hug*

I'm sitting up and making friends with LJ for a little while ;-) but I'll need to lie down again soon. Still weak. Haven't eaten much - not hungry.

My fingers are crossed too. Dr office closed today. Guess I could watch the video to see if he cauterized anything.

Glad to hear it went so well, CJ, and like Bill, I'm looking forward to hearing what was found. And Ted's suggestion of hugging a pillow when you cough often works - it did for me.

Today (Friday, day after surgery), though, I'm passing on the running. Ran yesterday so that I could use today as the "rest" day!

The video is of the procedure - what the scope saw. They don't usually record it and copy one off for the patient, but when I asked, they were happy to do it. Yay! I haven't quite psyched myself up to look at it yet. :-)
