I'm sure it was something I ate. However, it wasn't classic food poisoning; with that, I'm so miserably nauseous I want to die. The room spins, my throat stays tight, the whole works. With this, it was miserable in an entirely different way. "Hmm, maybe it's safe to lie down and catch a few winks... no. ... OK, wow, maybe now it's safe to lie do... no."

Knowing me, I bet I got a bit of cross-contamination - fish - at lunch. Any noticeable amount, like a mouthful, of fish would have caused a ruckus within an hour, and I'd have been hungry/shaky yesterday afternoon but I'd have slept last night. This got farther into my system and merited a whole-body response.

Important safety tip. If ya ever spend a night like this, do not fart. I know you're an adult and very used to being in control of this sort of thing. You may think you know what to expect. Don't try it.

So I waited until a) it was clear I wasn't going to sleep, and b) I was willing to be in a car for twenty minutes, and I came in to work. I will definitely give in when the afternoon sleepies hit me.

Ah, and the best part of all this: since I didn't get, or didn't keep, my meds last night, the abdominal pain is coming on line now. I really don't think my tummy wants to process painkillers right now, either.

I hear ya. It's really awful. I too am very dehydrated today, and I am getting by with a couple swallows of water at a time. (Anything more comes back. And I'm still FEELING nauseous, which is just annoying. Body, figure it out. Send it back or shut up about it.)
