I don't yet know when I'm going, but Dr. Jain of the Centers for Pain Management called me back and says he wants to see me.

A number of things (in my history) "are confusing," he says. "Come and let me look at you." He says the first question is an accurate diagnosis, and if that is okay, treatment should be "easy." I told him I was a bit concerned that I'd had several different diagnoses from different people so far.

He's unwilling to speculate on anything until he gets a look at me in person. I don't blame him, disappointed as I am at having no feedback yet. He did say he'd pursue "pharmaceuticals" heavily. Good for him if he can find any applicable stuff I haven't already had. :-)

I should come Tuesday or Wednesday and stay through Friday, planning to fly back on the weekend. Then I will likely be asked to come back in one or two months, depending. LaGuardia is closest/easiest.

Wheeeeeee... maybe.

I strongly disrecommend Newark. AVOID NEWARK.

(I got stuck in Newark overnight once. It was so not fun. Also, getting in and out of Manhattan from Newark is a goddamn pain in the ass [look, it's turning me into a New Yorker!] and unbelievably slow if you have to do it any time there is any traffic at all, which is to say any time.)

I use Newark airport - then again I live 20 minutes north of it, so any other airport isn't convient.

So a car service/cab costs an extra $20. If it saves you $50-100 on plane fare, I'd consider it worthwhile, esp. since I find the people who work at EWR are much more friendly/polite than the ones at JFK.

I never cared about the cost, because my company was paying for it. It's the extra time I didn't like.
