You know you're too busy when you can't find a time for your fortieth birthday party.

I've been wanting to do SOMETHING memorable for this nice base-ten round number ever since a friend of mine had a great fortieth. But the scheduling! When I look at the calendar there's one weekend day free within A MONTH of it -- that is, if I insist on having Rob around, which I suppose is maybe too picky.

If you'd have asked me ten years ago, I really would have thought my life would be calm and maybe a little boring by now. Hahahahahahaha. :-)

I hope you can find the time. You deserve it.

Oddly enough, I was describing the aforementioned birthday party to Kent. His reply: "Oh, good...that gives me 6 years to plan."

I promise to invite you.

*chuckle* It's not the kind of party I'm likely to throw (or have thrown for me) but it sure was a memorable thing for the guest of honor!

I'm sure it was! He seems to have the most...interesting birthday parties.

I have a feeling my 40th will be a little more low-key, too. Unless, of course, the revenge factor comes in since I've got a 40th to plan for Derk (2 years) and a 50th for Kent (in three). *evil chuckle*
