You know you're too busy when you can't find a time for your fortieth birthday party.

I've been wanting to do SOMETHING memorable for this nice base-ten round number ever since a friend of mine had a great fortieth. But the scheduling! When I look at the calendar there's one weekend day free within A MONTH of it -- that is, if I insist on having Rob around, which I suppose is maybe too picky.

If you'd have asked me ten years ago, I really would have thought my life would be calm and maybe a little boring by now. Hahahahahahaha. :-)

I didn't do much for mine, but my mom hunted down my office address and sent shiny balloons and some very chocolatey brownie-cakes, so the people around me didn't miss out just because I wasn't bothering :-)
