Thank you all

Thanks to everyone for the sympathetic comments. I know that expressions of empathy over the electrons can be regarded as not very useful, but right now, THEY MEAN A LOT TO ME. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

P.S. The picture of baby otters is helping a lot too.

Oh, argh. Sympathies.

Here's a picture of a baby panda.

If that's not enough, here's sixteen more baby pandas..

AAAAAAAAAA SIXTEEN BABY PANDAS! That is so cute!

Still stunned

- because I do that well lately. Meh.

I have no pictures but this for you: tonight at SATB's C2 teach, a couple of dancers came back for the first night in months. They're a lovely couple; he's kind a gentle and she's a bit acerbic. I've wondered why I get along with them both. He had two strokes in short order a few months ago, and they've not been dancing.

They brought their new puppy, "Salsa", a bichon if I'm right, and the roomful of people sat in chairs entranced by this little thing bounding across the linoleum at a gallop, then sliding perilously close to walls, yipping and hands and repeating the process. She particularly liked the streaked hair of one dancer who knelt to play.

It isn't much maybe, but like your adorable otters, it reminds me of how much simple good there is. I know - I'm a sentimental schmuck sometimes.

Yes. IM conversation from last night:
me: Baby OTTERS! They are so FUCKING CUTE!
me: And y'know, a world with that amount of cuteness in it is still worth being in for a while, know what I mean?

Yeah. That.

My cats do that! They like to chase the mousie-toy across the (hardwood floored) living room and then skid into the front door *wham*.

(At least, I assume they like it. They certainly keep doing it. And I like it.)

(And one of my cats likes to take corners really fast and start to skid and scrabble his claws on the floor. I swear he does it on purpose.)

*Hugs* and suchlike

Sorry, I hadn't checked LJ between that post and this one.

Anyway, really sorry about the results. Hope the cat is helping (and wine, too, I trust?). And let me know if you want me to filter my posts-bout-that-thing-I-won't-say-that-rhymes-with-'schmunning'.

Hang in there! Nanotech is racing along. We'll be able to build you new feet in no time.

Oh, no worries! And please don't feel you have to censor yourself on my account. Yes, it hurts when I read about running -- has for years -- but as I said in another comment (& I'm realizing it's very true), I'm going to have to learn how to deal with being as I am in an able-bodied world, and I may as well start now.

Hee! New nanotech feet! I like it.

And good luck on BtoB! It's such a FUN run!

Please have some more sympathetic comments, if you would like, from me. It's hard to have a crucial part of the body flake out on you.

OK, you win some kind of "LJ Best Reply Prize". That was so funny, I had to watch it a dozen times. I love the look the mama panda gives the camera when it's all over, like, "Can you believe what I put up with?".

CJ, this oughta be good for at least a short burst of cheer.

Oh, and while I'm at it, more hugs from me.

HAHAHAHA I know a square dancer who sneezes like that! :-) :-)

I'd bring you cheese, if I were nearby!

Just catching up on my LJ reading - so sorry you had such negative news from the doctor. If you haven't already tried alterntive medicines, I certainly recommend them. Two years ago I had terrible sciatica that would not improve with Physio - then I started acupuncture, cupping, and deep tissue massage. In a few months, the symptoms were much better. True, I still have some tingling and occasional aching in that leg, but nothing like the pain I had originally.

If you don't give up, you will find a way through it. What do doctors know anyway? :-)
