Thanks to everyone for the sympathetic comments. I know that expressions of empathy over the electrons can be regarded as not very useful, but right now, THEY MEAN A LOT TO ME. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Awwwww! I have a purring cat right beside me now. Life isn't all bad. Yay for purring cats.
