Wow, when I don't bother to post the boring stuff I really don't have anything to say. I'll be musing on that in the near future.
In the meantime, here's some day-to-day stuff. I had an excellent weekend: a touch of square dance calling, some random socializing with square dancers we don't see often, a Scharffen Berger factory tour, and a day in Napa wine-tasting with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
wooddragon while rfrench walked with us and joked with us and very graciously acted as chauffeur. Man can I spend money in Napa... but the wines and the Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant are SO worth it.

I loved the factory tour. The place itself isn't very big, so a fair bit of the tour was an informational lecture by a guy who really knew what he was talking about. We ran our fingers through a bowl of cacao beans, saw pictures of the trees and of the fermentation process, and got to taste some nibs. The factory was mostly shut down for the weekend, but processes that take multiple days were still running with a skeleton crew to tend the machines. I am now sporting a shirt saying (EXTRA) BITTER, bought in the little gift shop. It smelled like chocolate when I put it on. :-)
