The other day I went to a Thai restaurant, and a little while after coming home I

EUPHEMISM ALERT

"didn't feel well".

END OF EUPHEMISM

I figured I ate way too much way too fast or something. Sadly, I no longer think that was it. Today I made some rice and put a bit of leftover Thai peanut sauce on it. Shortly afterward, I [euphemism here].

This time it was definitely the peanut sauce. I am going to be bummed if this keeps happening every time I try to eat peanut sauce! I LIKE peanut sauce! That's the whole point of satay, isn't it? Carrying that scrumptious sauce into the mouth? ([livejournal.com profile] palecur, I can't hear you la la la la.)

Maybe it's just the way that particular place makes it. I can hope.

Hmmm. Peanuts being somewhat related to soy makes this a possible thing for me to try, too.

AFAIK, there's soy sauce in satay peanut sauce.

I work with a geneticist who specializes in peanut allergies. It's really interesting to listen to him talk about how peanuts and soy are similar, and how they're different.

If you find yourself with any specific questions, I'd be happy to pass them along.

There is? Wow, I had no idea. I'm guessing it's the specific sauce that's the problem, because I can eat peanuts and peanut butter with no trouble. I hope it's just this one batch...

Thanks!
