I'm experimenting with doing "chores" in the morning, rather than in the evening. This is so that when I get home tired from work I can have some real down time instead of slowly-muster-energy-for-another-obligation time.

- Finished/put away the laundry
- Started a load of dishes
- Completed first set of mods to the Boulder Holder (with scissors and wire cutters and a metal file: shrink the "wires" on the armpit side)

Off to an appointment and then to work, yee ha.

sounds like a pretty good idea :) (would never work for me, though; i'm totally not a morning person and like to wake up at the last possible moment)

I'm not a morning person either, but I do tend to wake up when Rob does, and his morning "get ready" routine is anywhere from a half hour to 50 minutes longer than mine. This morning, instead of lounging in bed failing to sleep, I got some stuff done. :-)

I've found myself doing that, too...which is odd, since I'm *so* not a morning person.

Mostly I think it's because [livejournal.com profile] tman_mcl goes to work crazy-early and then works crazy-long hours, and me going to work later has us returning home closer to the same time. Somehow I enjoy morning alone-time in the house more than evening alone-time.

I find myself enjoying the sunshine and the puttering while drinking my coffee.

I suppose there's another angle for those of us who aren't morning people: we probably *are* evening people, and this trick allows us to enjoy our evenings more!

good trick!! i bet even 15-20 minutes in the AM gets a LOT done, and gives you the relief of knowing you don't have to face it when you get home, but can do fun stuff/relax instead.

Yep, I did 30 minutes this morning. My challenge is at least 30 minutes daily and I wanted it DONE before this evening. Of course, the main reason for that is this evening I am busy. :-P Square dance calling again. Boy oh boy do I want my down time. Want Want Want. I think I get some in April.

You wouldn't believe -- wait, you probably would -- how much force is required to cut underwires. They are, of course, not wires. They're way sturdier than wires. Sheesh!

having guilt-free down time after work is almost a good enough reason to force myself to get up early. too bad it takes every spoon i've got to drag myself out now.

i've never cut underwires down, but i've sure wanted to. can't tell you how many i've cursed to hell and back. then there's the ones that pop out of the fabric and go for a joyride under my clothing.

one side benefit of losing weight is that my bras are fitting better. tell ya' what: i'll share some of my girth, if you spot me some bulk. deal? especially if it's detachable. i've got a couple tops that i just don't fill out properly.

Guilt-free down time is so weird I am having trouble figuring out what to do with it! I must do this again tomorrow!

Yeah, cutting underwires down is apparently a must for me now. If you have big enough, um, boulders, then supporting them adequately means raising them up to the point where their tops are higher than the armpit. Of course this means an underwire will poke. It can't help it. That's how big the boulder is and the wire doesn't have anywhere else to go.

I've never had one pop out of the fabric. Wow. That'd be annoying in more ways than one!

What an excellent trade that would be! I don't even have THAT MUCH bulk, objectively speaking. But on this ribcage it is supposedly inhumanly big. I would be happy to give you half! I'd probably be down to a C cup and LOVING it, and whatever it made you might work for those tops!

Good for you! When I can actually GET up in time to do chores, I find that I'm even more productive at work than usual. Nothing starts the morning off like tossing in a load of laundry in time to get it into the dryer before I take off for work.

Yes, after work, the first thing I want to do is collapse. Even on Mondays and Thursdays when I have to immediately get into square dance and C/W Billivanilli mode.

I wish I had had the side effect of work productivity today! Sadly today was a lost cause before I started. Appointment, lunch with ex-coworkers (scheduled way in advance), two meetings, and a slightly early square dance club. I will try this again tomorrow and see if I get the Patented Bill Eyler Productivity Effect! :-)

Since school started, I've been "a little from column A, a little from column B," usually doing mundane stuff like dishes and such in the morning, and saving more involved stuff for after homework in tne evening.

I don't know how you're finding the energy... unless school, being a pursuit of a dream, is a little bit like my "down time" in that it is a time you are doing what you want to do. I so rarely have any time when I'm doing what I want to do. That's precious to me. Maybe school feeds that, just a bit, for you?

I'm not sure but I think you may be on to something there. Although when I get frustrated with the learning and have to work on it a lot more than usual (luckily most concepts come easily to my understanding), like I am with the material for this week's calculus test, it starts to sap the energy as I plod through. I have to "keep my eyes on the prize" too, not being in any specific meteorology courses or research work yet.

Before this head-first dive into school, I was right there with you, though - even not working full-time, it was a drag to get anything done that had to be done. Now, while I still hate washing dishes and such, getting stuff done is progress.

Maybe the trick for me is just to keep "moving".
