I don't know if anyone told you yet about " Ultra Swim Shampoo"
Its good for getting chlorine outof your hair. They also have a Ultra Swim Conditioner. When I used to swim competitively we would also rinse out a swim suits with the shampoo - making the suit last longer -
Oh, I'm sure people like how it *looks*. I don't like how it *feels* and what it can *do*. Want arm strength, want (ok this is a little personal) a bit of a reduction. I've carried these girls around long enough!! Ah well. We play the hands we're dealt.
Thank you! I want to trade it in for one that's nice for ME. Better function and less drag! ;-)
Yeah, I've been a runner (and hiker and backpacker) for way too long. Plus I'm a girl, so upper body takes extra work, work I have never given it. Swimming and some weights, that's the ticket.
Yeah, ever since college I've been aware that my upper body is very nice for other people. But yanno, I'm 38 now, my lower body is useless, and all those other people have had their turn. It's MY turn now.
Having a rec center sounds convenient. That's a huge boon to an exercise program: low overhead.
It's at the opposite end of campus, of course, but that's like complaining about finding close parking at a gym, IMHO. Going there to exercise, anyway. :-)
Crunchy. The painful twinging part is apparently completely unaffected by swimming, which is way cool. The joint is still all crunchy. That worries me, but what can ya do? I'm out of options. I guess I'll use this body up as fast as I have to.
The best upper body I ever had was when I went to Gold's Gym regularly and had one of their people put together a weight circuit for me. Being a girl, I have a ton of trouble with push-ups (both my arms and my back are too weak to do them).
Yeah, speaking of push-ups probably the best upper body I ever had was when I was in the Army. I practiced JUST those, though, so I bet I wouldn't have been a great swimmer or good at various weightlifting exercises.

I have no arm strength to speak of, either, having concentrated on bicycling, so I understand. If you keep swimming, maybe it'll help?

That's the important part. :-)

I may need to take advantage of the Purdue Rec Center when I start there in August. Probably not swimming, but other stuff.

Soon I will be done with school. Should we plan a "design a weights program for CJ" date sometime after that?

Oh, um, that didn't make sense. What I *meant* was, if you're patient, it will come.
Just keep swimming, my dear!
