I'm doing NaNo again this year. I'll limit my posting about my trials and tribulations to a specific filter, as I suspect many non-NaNo-ers wish *everyone* on LJ would do ;-).

If you want to be on it or want to be off it, holler. ([livejournal.com profile] layer, I gotcha covered.)

The weird thing is, last year I had the dissertation AND a full-time job, and I still did Nano. No job this year, and I still feel that I'm too busy. Well, I didn't get any work done on the diss last November, either, and I can't afford to fall behind by a whole month this year, not if I want to finish the diss this summer.

I'm going to try anyway. Fiction in English might be the perfect balance to mathematical French, you know?

It might limber up your brain a bit, on days when you aren't making headway on the French. If you can't afford to fall behind by a month, than I guess if you see your diss is falling behind you'll simply bail on NaNo. That makes sense. And you might as well give it a go, with that understanding of the priorities!
