Square dancing tonight. The good news: I danced almost a full session. The bad news: my feet hurt in the same way they did before surgery. It's possible they don't hurt quite as much; I'm not sure.

It's not post-op pain. That wouldn't be half so bad. This is the same kind of pain I had before. This pain means it didn't work. Western medicine's final answer has failed.

I'm trying really really hard to pretend that this is not the case. I need to focus on surgery recovery before I focus on whatever snake oil I'm going to try next. But I am very bummed.

I wouldn't give up yet. Having had surgery myself, even after the scars heal and you can do what you did before, many times the pain is still there. I guess after a longer healing period (say 3 months) if it's still as painful I'd rethink it.

At the very least we can't do much about any other kind of pain until the surgery recovery is closer to complete. The scar tissue needs to shrink and the phantom pain needs to fade a lot. Couple more months.
