Friends Lists

I've noticed that people on LJ sometimes ASK ME if they can put me on their Friends list. I don't really understand why putting someone on a Friends list would need permission, unless people don't trust the LJ privacy/security features, but enough people ask that I'm getting worried. I don't want to step on any toes! So if you're on my Friends list already, and if ever you want to be off it, just holler.

That's exactly the way I see it, too. If you want privacy, use the privacy features; if you don't trust those, don't post on the net. But now that I know there are opposing viewpoints out there, I'll at least make some effort to avoid offending.
