What is a good mood like for me?
  • Usually I'm energetic, occasionally I'm very relaxed
  • I'm focused on something good
  • I'm doing what I've chosen to do (either because it's fun or because I want it done)
  • I don't feel rushed
  • Usually I am alone, occasionally I'm with others

What puts me in a good mood?
  • Focusing on what I can control rather than what I can't
  • Adding positive things to diminish the impact of negative things I can't control (such as pain)
  • Looking forward to something good in the future
  • Having just completed something rewarding
  • Planning how to accomplish something rewarding

Enjoyable things:
  • curling up with cats
  • reading a book
  • being outdoors
  • doing a jigsaw puzzle

Rewarding things:
  • solving a technical problem at work
  • anything that's been a To Do item for a while (fixing the coffee table)
  • anything that makes my environment more pleasant (doing dishes, getting rid of clutter)
  • getting some exercise

...it's so rewarding. :-)

Actually it's really nicer if that is done, so I'll really do that now.

I will do some dishes when I get home this evening, too. :-)

lanning how to accomplish something rewarding

I LOVE planning. But only when it's something really cool, like moving to Lafayette should Sam get a job offer there. I don't really care for planning how to clean up my files at work though.

Oddly enough I can really get into planning a file drawer reorg. Actually doing it, though, is less riveting!

I don't feel rushed

Yes. This is *essential* for me. I'm such a slow-poke... I used to tell people I always got there in the end, though.

I'm generally not a slow-poke, myself, but I still hate feeling rushed.

Funny how disparities in time can be so annoying. I have a coworker who drives like molasses in January, talks even slower than that (I am SO glad I don't work directly with him so I don't have to LISTEN to him), and walks like a shot bullet. I do everything fast except walk (now that I have foot trouble)! I will never really get along with this guy. The "time lag" is too agonizing.
