That's been my wish every night since Tuesday, and my shame is that it wasn't what I had been thinking of before. Many people live with explosions, devastation, rubble, and deaths every day in war-torn areas. Now that it's MY people, I'm thinking of this wish...

Thoughts and Prayers

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones.

My thoughts and prayers also go out to those who have not lost their lives or their loved ones in connection with this, but who will. Burn victims... more rescue workers, perhaps... US ground troops... and maybe innocent civilians on another continent

Human Nature

In the past few days, we've seen the best and the worst of human nature. To me, one of the most heartening things to come out of this tragedy is the incredible support people are giving each other - the condolences from all over the world, the help in time of need, the blood so generously donated that they're now freezing the extra, the thousands of dollars given from the poorest sections of a city.

What saddens me is that we're not like this all the time. Then, we would TRULY be people to be proud of.
