Bookmarks

When I need a bookmark I’ll just use whatever’s to hand. Every so often I’ll be looking for some important thing and it will be between the pages of a book. Where’s that application form? Oh, I used it as a bookmark. Where are your Very Critical Tax Documents? Oh, I must have, umm, what was I reading? You get the picture.

I’ve just now reached a new low. I used an iPad as a bookmark.

Hey, not everyone can say they did, so I'd argue you've reached a new high, not a new low.

Makes me think of using a book as a bookmark (something I'm 100% sure I've done at some point or another) only this has more cachet.

A new high? I guess I have never used anything of enormous value as a bookmark. Hmm. Creativity required...

I know I’ve done that thing where two books interleaved with each other to provide a bookmark in each. Easier with magazines.

Random bookmarks make interesting used book store finds. An iPad would be too interesting, though.

I enjoy finding sales slips that are obviously from an earlier purchase of the same book. It feels like I am linked across time to all the people who have enjoyed the book.

I often use my reading glass case. It's cloth. :)

And it’s often handy! I’m fond of sales slips, junk mail, my phone, a pen... I never think a bookmark will stay long. Obviously sometimes it does. :)
