Hi insomnia. I didn’t see you last night. Quarter to one in the morning: that’s a new record. I’m impressed.
Half a bottle of wine, check. One more home remedy in progress shortly. Dang, how do normal people cope?

My new meds (the anti-seizure meds) are giving me nightmares, so I'm waking up. Last night I dreamed about a massive gas explosion in the East Bay, and that Zxywvut and I were trying to drive onto the Bay Bridge, and we kept getting passed by burned cars. Can't imagine why someone with a cold would dream about not being able to breathe.
I'm going to try taking the meds in the morning instead of at night. They can make you drowsy, though. I've been so tired since I started them because of flying back from the east coast, losing a day to flight delay, losing a night of sleep to an egregious accounting error, and then getting a cold, that I can't judge whether or not the meds are making me tired. %-(

Sometimes I wonder if very vivid dreams are a result of suddenly being ABLE to sleep and dream when for a while you’ve been denied those things. The body/mind is catching up.
I made a decision the day before yesterday and it’s so immensely freeing that when my body figures it out and allows me to sleep, I bet I’m going to have some real doozies. :/

The nightmares may mean I'm sleeping better, but they wake me up! I took the meds this am, and I slept better last night, except for my challenging little teenager being all "Mom! Love me!" at 2:00, and then, when I woke up at 3:30 needing water and tried to reach over him sweetly cuddled right up next to me, I spilled it all over the rug and had to get up to dry it. I told him it wasn't his fault.
The meds are Topamax/Topirimate. We'll see if I'm extra sleepy this week. Not so great for a birthday girl. But they are keeping headaches away effectively.

I wonder if dreams waking you up is a get-used-to-it phase?
