Doctors

Thanks for the recommendation, mactavish. Looks like I have a need for a doctor a bit sooner than I thought I might. Neural mumble. Great. I feel like such a hypochondriac! First I have a lump which turns out to be nothing, now I have a malfunctioning nose. Just wait until I get older and have anything REAL wrong with me. I'll be my doctor's worst nightmare.

I called to make an appointment, and I can't do that until I have "registered". I got transferred to registration, which is closed. Back to the appointment desk to see if I can at least get penciled in for a timeslot. No -- not until "your name is in the computer". I was soooo tempted to tell them that of course I was in the computer. After all, I'm SURE my name happens to appear in their computer somewhere. ;-) But no, I'll play nice. This time. ;-)

joedecker, didn't you just have an appointment with a new GP you really liked? I could try calling him, too.

Are you going to try skipping the vitamins over the weekend as a test, then? I've certainly had medication which has affected my sense of taste and/or smell, it's not out of the question that that's what's going on....

Yes, I'm discontinuing everything as of noon today and IF this clears up, will start back on things one at a time.

Yeah, as much as I love pamf, the first time in is a paperwork challenge. I had to do it for the rheumatologist, and haven't had to since.

Ambar said "Palo Alto Medical Foundation". Connectred with Stanford, takes most all of the medical plans, etc.

Yep, this runaround was brought to me by PAMF. :-) Good to know it takes most of the major medical plans. I have a sinking feeling this one isn't going to be cheap.
