The good news

1. Diabetic Kitty ate cheese* and subsequently acted normal. No fatalities**.

2. Monday, which was going to be chem lab report due -> chem exam -> bio exam -> physics lecture -> two business essays due, has now had its biology exam delayed. Now Monday is only lab report -> exam -> lecture -> lecture -> two essays, which is WAY BETTER, especially considering my Friday and Saturday are full.

3. I even got a good start on that lab report today.

4. And I moved my doctor's appointment so that it's not right before a pair of back-to-back exams (a week from Monday, bio and physics).

Things are looking up.

* Good tactics, cat. Refuse everything except MY DINNER, when I know you're at risk, so I HAVE to give it to you.
** This is how the hummingbird died. (Except I'm pretty sure no one had given him supplemental insulin.) Did I mention the hummingbird, last week? I guess I can tell you the story, but you know the ending.

*Box turtles work this way, too. Anna hasn't been hungry the past few days ... until I gave her some leftover lasagna this morning. That, she gobbled down eagerly.

I think it'll take a bit more work to convince me of this one.

But hey, she appreciates the lasagna and doesn't make remarks about how she could improve it, so she gets points for manners! ;-)

So you've never seen a cat stand at a door, waiting to be let out, and you open the door for her, and then she either stands there thinking, or goes out, then turns around and wants to be let in again?

That's a desert tortoise behavior, too.

I've never seen a cat hibernate for a season, and I have yet to see a desert tortoise purr. But keep trying. Those tortoises could grow on me.

Cats don't hibernate for a season, but they certainly get an equivalent amount of napping in year round. :)
