I did it. I shut down the computers, turned in my badge, and drove on outta there. I'm now in Los Angeles calling a square dance.

It hasn't sunk in yet. Last night I was so stressed about all the last-minute stuff that I slept about three and a quarter hours. (This was handy. I got a lot done.) But you can imagine how keyed up I've been all day. My shoulders haven't unknotted yet.

I suspect that tonight -- I suspect that somewhere between the time I fall asleep and the time I realize there's absolutely no need to get up on time, it will sink in then. :-)

Lucrative and all that but stress filled with odd expected hours and people thinking that overtime is normal and no furry faces looking up at you waiting to be saved!! You need reward from what you do, and it's going to be BRILLIANT.

But yeah. Terrifying. Change always is. *wry smile*

Overtime will still be normal, I suspect. But furry faces! CUTE furry faces!

After dinner tonight, just before the dance, we were walking out to the car and I saw a young woman with a mini Eskie (like this but chihuahua sized). I was all OOO CAN I SAY HI? and the little dude wagged his whole back end and I got doggie kisses and everyone else from dinner was looking at me like I was from Mars. Heh. The power of furry faces! :-)

But furry faces!

You could just try to talk Rob into growing a mustache and beard.

He did once. Then he shaved it all off before I could see it. He refuses to do it again just for me. :-)
