Had one filling replaced and two new ones added, bringing me to a lifetime total of four. The new ones were supposed to be fairly shallow -- after all, it took me until age forty to need anything done in the first place.

Sadly, the dentist wanted to numb me up anyway, which is deeply annoying. Grr. And now that it has worn off a bit and I can drink from a glass again, the whole right side of my face ACHES with a low-level deep throbbing kind of ache that feels as if my orthodontic wires got tightened. It's up to my cheekbone and my temple, and it's down the jaw from ear to chin.

No fun.

However, this work did get done before my dental benefits ended. Thumbs up for that.

i think the combination of novocaine wearing off, and the lasting effects of having your mouth jacked open for longer than necessary.

here's hoping that by tomorrow morning you'll be all better.

Improved, definitely! I hadn't felt like my jaw was really stretched -- when they're doing the very back teeth, you can't open too wide or your lips and cheeks get in the way. But wow, there was an effect, and I still have some ache today. Weeeeeird. Never had this before, even though my other early filling was also in the very back.
