Workplace chuckle

Here's an e-mail exchange that made me chuckle this morning.

M 10:39am: Please send a status update, particularly for Project1.
me 10:48am: Status bla bla bla Project1 detail bla.
M 10:49am: Out of Office AutoReply: I am out of the office until Wednesday August 6. I will not be reading email.

It's true, too; he's gone.

M is the kind of guy who'd take it well if I showed him these and then handed him a Pointy-Haired Boss hat.

As opposed to what happened to me earlier today: my boss had said "I'll be out until the week after next, with no email." I had a non-time-critical item to request from someone else, but that needed his approval; when I sent in the request I said "and the approval will probably be a while". Less than 40 minutes later...the approval, and a note saying "I thought you said he had no access!" Heh. I like my boss.
