Thanks! For me, it turned out to be hypothyroidism. (Of course, the trouble with that is that it's often progressive, which means you're stuck in the cycle of "please, can't we just *try*?" for the foreseeable future. I'm due for another round of that in the coming week or two.)
For my cat, well, we still aren't sure. But vets aren't subject to managed care, so it's easier to get them to try things.
