I get so excited when I'm heading into a weekend. (Yeah, life overhaul, mumble. I'll work on it. For now, I love weekends.)

This weekend includes a housewarming party, dinner with friends, and positively LOADS of Get Stuff Done time. I can sleep in until ten both days and STILL get a whale of a lot of Stuff Done. None of it has to be on anybody else's schedule, either. (Unless I need to go to a store. That kind of errand would indeed be more productive if done when the store is open.)

Stuff I could potentially Get Done:
Get groceries
Make lasagna, or fondue and bread, or potato leek soup (<- I've never tried that last)
Bake chocolate chip cookies! Bake brownies! Bake peanut butter cookies!
Watch human anatomy videos
Get a refill on the cat's insulin prescription (<- getting desperate)
Get a refill on my own prescription (not desperate until Tuesdayish)
Mail DVDs to Kimberly
Paper-filing party in the family room (one attendee)
Make the bed in the guest room (sheets are washed)
Trim the cats' claws
Clean the cat box room AGAIN
Order various clothing items I'm running low on
Sleep a lot
Read fluff novels
Drink wine
Eat fondue
Pet kitties

Kitties vote for prioritizing that last one over the one about the claws.

*laughter*

Sadly, I think my lap prioritizes the one about the claws pretty high up there. Fortunately two out of three cats surveyed don't really mind all that much.

*giggling* Excellent!

It's good hearing you sound all bouncy about the weekend. :)

if you have potatoes and leeks anyway, you could toss them in olive oil, salt and pepper and roast them.

Hmm. The advantage of this is I can do it without having any leeks, which I don't, until I go to the grocery store. :)

Weekends are fabulous.

that's exactly how i am feeling about the weekend. and because i managed to sleep until after NINE (with only a short interruption at 6) i actually feel good enough to get stuff done!

Wow, isn't it great to be able to sleep? My own slight interruption was at close to five, when SOMEbody -- I won't mention Duchess' name -- overturned the wide metal cat food dish in the kitchen. It made a heck of a racket.

(I know it was her only because the other two were on top of me.)

Now that I'm back to work weekends mean something again. That's quite a list you've got. I know for me, the animals would be at the top followed by the books and then I'd work my way down. Course the cooking/baking can fit in with those others. I built a big pot of spaghetti sauce this weekend to freeze. Let us know what you ended up doing--and enjoy--whatever it is!!

Aren't weekends terrific? And I love how baking can fit in with other activities. I can read a book AND smell delicious things from the kitchen!

So far I've done a lot of the goofing-off stuff like reading and sleeping, I've gone to the housewarming and to the dinner with friends (yay!), I've bought groceries and the cat's insulin, and I've got lasagna in the oven.

I better get going if I want bread. I'm not feeling particularly cheerful about grating the cheese for fondue, but I did buy it, and it's expensive, so by golly I'm going to make fondue. Here I go. :-)
