I am a goofball sometimes

I left a chocolate bar on somebody's chair.
He thanked me.
I started to banter: "I didn't do it, nobody saw me, can't prove anything."
He took back his thank you.
Then I got all sad! What the @#$! did I expect? GOOFBALL.

Bummer! What, the guy didn't recognize banter? Or was his taking back his thank you an ultra-lame attempt at banter? Bummer, it sucks when things that are s'posta be little bits of fun go awry.

I'm not sure which, but yeah, bummer when a minor fun goes unhappy. :-(

Yee-gads! We really *are* twins separated at birth!! I do stuff like this all the time, and feel like a complete dorkus later! (Last time I can remember -- I was watching a waitress at our favorite Thai restaurant adjust a long rug. She looked like she was struggling with it, and when she was done I said "Well now, THAT'S better!" She smiled, but I felt like a total jerk! I told Rondo "Why do I SAY things like that? I'm such a smartass!!"

I swear I've done exactly the same thing with gifts before. I just get weirded out being thanked, so I pop off with something odd, then feel odd afterwards.

If it's any consolation, I would have laughed instead of taken my thanks back if you had said it to me!! :)

(Oh, and logging out and then back in again worked -- can you tell?? )

YES!! Augh!

(Oh, and logging out and then back in again worked -- can you tell?? )

I figured it might! :-) Cool!

Hey CJ, come leave a chocolate bar on my chair sometime. [He said with a sly grin.]

Hey! You got your Chocolate in my Barcolounger!

No! You got your Barcolounger in my Chocolate!

CJ tiptoes over and peeks around the door to Bill's office.
Dang. He's there. She ducks back around the wall quickly.
Maybe in a few minutes the chair will be empty...

[identity profile] wcg.livejournal.com 2002-04-18 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Huh, that's odd," Bill thinks. "It looked like CJ there at the door for just a moment. But now she's gone again. Damn... Ah well, time for the Mission Planning meeting..."

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2002-04-18 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
About twenty minutes later, CJ peeks again. "Aha! He's not here. A perfect time to leave this candy bar sitting on his chair. He'll suspect it was me, but he might not be sure."

[identity profile] wcg.livejournal.com 2002-04-19 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Returning some time later, Bill notices the candy bar on his chair. "Hey, Julia? Did you see whoever left this?" he asks his office mate.

"Some cute little blonde," she replies.

"Julia, you're a cute little blonde," Bill says. "Was it you?"

"Heck no! But thank you," she dimples. "No, I've never seen her before."

"Huh..." Bill wonders, remembering a conversation. "Nah, it couldn't possibly be her..."

Somewhere down a few hallways and around a corner, the Chocolate Fairy giggles happily.
