Within the last day or two I read a quote that went something like

"If it costs you your peace of mind, the cost is too high."

Naturally I can't find it again now. Still, whether I can find the quote or not, the concept is something to keep in mind.

I've been bumping into this here and there lately in terms of cost assessments..It's often worth spending effort and money on things in order to bring about peace of mind and reduce stress instead of getting frazzled trying to come up with a cheaper solution. (applying this to my current furnace problems..getting very close to just replacing the thing instead of continuing to try to get it fixed...it'll be pricey, but I'm really tired of going to bed every night not knowing if the house will have heat when I wake up)

Yes. This comes up in investment decisions, too, all the time: the attempt to put a dollar price on peace of mind. It's a hard thing to do.
