Guess what week it is. Ow, ow, ow. Three Aleve and I'm still not moving well. If I didn't have to work I'd try Vicodin. Ow.

Eek. Healing, pain-eliminating vibes to you!

Thanks! :-)

*hugs*

Weren't you the one who told me about a cramp-alleviating massage?

I hope you feel better soon. I should be getting my period any second now, so I'll be commiserating in a little while...

Yes indeedy. I hope to get myself one of those next time I have enough privacy, which is probably as soon as I get home. I can't wait.

Hope yours arrives quietly and with little fanfare. :-)

This appears to require less privacy. :)

Cool! Thanks!

*transcontinental hugs* and a wish that the pain subsides soon.
Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 12:31 pm (UTC)
thanks! :-) You picked the right distance to be; I'm crabby when I'm in pain. :-)
Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 12:44 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I figured no close pressure would be a good idea. More a hug-by-intent than anything else.

I hope the worst of the pain passes soon.

Hug-by-intent sounds good! :-)

I read somewhere that orgasms are good for cramping because it relaxes the muscles in the region. On the other hand, Catch-22, who feels like having an orgasm when youre in pain, right?

If only I could eroticize this particular pain!

Orgasm helps my cramp pain for about three minutes. It fades, then comes right back.

Frankly, I don't have the kind of stamina needed for consistent pain relief.
Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 01:23 pm (UTC)
I get fifteen minutes or so, but still I definitely don't have the stamina. Every fifteen minutes for three days in a row... nope, I just don't have that capability. :-)

Vicodin is great for working! At least for me. Focussing and well as pleasant. At a previous job, there was a ready supply of it around and I used to work that way just cuz.

Really? Wow! I thought it was a "don't drive using this" kind of thing. I've never tried it, so I wouldn't know from experience...
Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 12:58 pm (UTC)
Personally, I wouldn't drive on more than one or two of them. It does retard motor skills and reaction time, but all that means in our kinda work is slightly slower typing speed which at least for me isn't generally the bottleneck.

My personal experience is that it doesn't impede either creative thinking or logical processing. It might hinder memory VERY slightly, but not at a level that you'd notice while programming.

If you're hurting and you think it would help and have it available, go for it.

Hm. Thanks for the info! I just might try it this evening, then. It's at home -- and by then some of the naproxen sodium should taper off (I've taken 880mg so far this morning).

I hope the pain goes away soon. Prayers and good thoughts on the way.
