I grew up with a cat named Mu. Yeah, the Greek letter.

Her predecessor was named Pi "because he was irrational" (or so said my dad when anyone asked).

This composer named a cat Lepton.

Hat tip to [livejournal.com profile] albadger, along with my apologies for reposting this link since it does indeed still discuss the possibility of making that opera.

Right now the two I am responsible for naming are Jackie (after Jackie Chan, because she does all her own stunts), and Duchess (found on an airport, then named after the Beechcraft twin-engine aircraft because she too is overweight and underpowered - but pretty).

Names are fun.

But does Suchess also have a V-tail?

That's the Bonanza, but hey, with all that fluff she's got we could hide just about any tail configuration in there!

Your description of Duchess as 'overweight and underpowered, but pretty' made me laugh right out loud.

Well, she IS! :-) Except when she has suddenly gone back into diabetic-mode and I haven't caught it yet and so she drops a bunch of weight.
