I went in yesterday and today. My vaguely-defined "half days" turn out to be five or six hours long, but that's a darn sight better than ten to fourteen, so I'll take it.
Man am I tired. That's the biggest thing. Mmm, NAP TIME. I am a sleep machine.
My face mask causes no end of amusement among my coworkers.
Today a long, loud coughing fit garnered me two offers of nifty beverages: Emergen-C from the sales VP on the other side of the cubicle wall, and Throat Soother Tea from the engineer on the other side of the other cubicle wall. I think people aren't quite sure what to do with me. Sadly, there is a whale of a lot to do, so as long as I wear that mask and don't infect anyone, staying home really isn't a great option.
Speaking of having a lot to do, I am now the proud owner of a second cellphone. I'm not (yet) fully authorized to buy phones for the company on the company account, and we needed a particular one Right Now, so I just bought the darn thing. (This involved a credit check over the phone. Man, people, ask me ANYTHING but the mortgage questions. ANYTHING. Who owns our mortgage this week? Damfino!) I sure hope I can get that phone transferred over to the corporate account before its bills start coming due.
