HAHAHA! A favorite limerick of mine:
There once was a girl from Japan
Whose limericks never would scan.
When she was asked why,
She'd say with a sigh,
"It's because I always try to fit as many syllables into the last line as I possibly can."

I love that one too :) (Also, "scansion is optional/ and so is rhyme" would have been better, I think)

The word "rhyme" then comes just where the reader would expect an actual rhyme to be.
