I have no idea why my vet said to confine her to a room without a litterbox. She is way past the stage of caring whether there's a litterbox around. I found her sitting in her own puddle. My poor girl. She is usually so clean and tidy. She's not even trying now.

But she's in at the vet's as of eight this morning, where they'll watch her for a sample. Fingers crossed.

I am sorry Duchess is so sick that she had to go to the vet. I do not like going to the vet. Not at all. They force me to get into a little box, and then they put that in a big metal box that shakes and jerks, and I do not like that one bit. Then we get to the really scary place, where they do unspeakable things. They're so undignified I cannot even tell you what they are. At least my humans bring me home again when it is over. I feel very sorry for Duchess having to stay in that terrible place. I hope she gets well very soon so she can come home.

Is my friend Jackie glad for Duchess to be out of the house? I wouldn't mind if Friday left for awhile. It would be nice to not have to share my food or my human's attention, like it used to be. I would not want him to go away forever, though. He's my little brother and even though he is often a pain, it's nice to snuggle up with him in the soft chair on chilly winter days.

If I were there I would give Duchess a nice gentle bath and purr softly to her. That would make her feel better. I cannot get there because I do not want to go in the small cramped box or the big jerky box but you can tell her I am sending her thoughts of purrs and and baths.

Duchess does not like the little box or the big box either. But as soon as I got to the vet (and they weren't quite open yet) I made the big box be quiet and still, and Duchess calmed down and started to purr.

I think Jackie doesn't much care whether Duchess is out of the house. Little Girl seems confused though, and is being extra affectionate. Maybe she thinks we banished Duchess for insufficient affection.

Thank you. I wish I could give you scritches in return -- your favorite kind, whatever that would be.

I do not know Little Girl but if she lives with you she must be a very nice cat. Does she have a journal like [livejournal.com profile] jackiecat and me? I am sorry she is frightened by Duchess's absence. Since you only have two cats in the house right now you can give each of them half of the time you would spend with Duchess, so they will each have extra affection. I am sure they will be happy to have the extra scritching time. But only until Duchess comes home. Then she will need extra attention because she is sick.

My most favorite thing is good hard scritching -- the kind that digs in -- on top of my back just past my shoulder blades. The second best place is just above my tail. (Silly Friday likes it even on his tail as long as it's not to far from the end.) Besides that I love to have my head gently scritched and petted, my throat rubbed gently, and doing what my human calls Vulcan mind-melds, where she puts her forehead against my forehad and we just sit with our foreheads pressed together for a little while. (Silly Friday does not like humans putting their faces next to his. He does not realize how sublime it is.)

I am sure if you were here you would do all that for me. If you are not afraid of the big box you could come over and do that, and you could bring Jackie. I am sure my human would be very happy to see you.

Little Girl is a very sweet cat. She gets along well with the other cats and she loves being affectionate to the humans. She doesn't have a journal yet. I thought maybe I would make one for her but she doesn't seem to care. I will wait until she has something to say.

Oh yes, the just above the tail spot. Duchess likes that one too. She also likes her ears petted -- scritches behind and around are fine too, but she likes soft pets on her ears themselves.

I am not afraid of the big box but Jackie is. If I come I think I will have to let Jackie stay home!
