This icon is from Lisa, who took this photo of me when she was visiting here months ago. Yes, the short hair really does make my face look that much wider! New icons coming soon... er, someday... when I get out the camera and take pictures with the new glasses.

Aw, thanks! My skin is also a bit redder than this photo shows (see icon in comment, or next post).

The fun bit about this one is the memory; Lisa and I were clowning around, messing with her camera and my camera. She needed a new battery and the one she'd just bought from the store was a complete dud. I had a broken camera that had been sitting in a drawer (with the shutter open, 'cause that's how it had died) for years, and it took the same battery. We swapped batteries a couple of times and came up with -- I still have no idea how this happened -- TWO working cameras and TWO perfectly good batteries. Maybe there's magic when two good friends get together!

I think it's partially how I smile -- if the cheeks are pushed outward, I have a pear-shaped face. With long hair that's sometimes disguised a little (or even obscured) by the vertical lines; with short hair, nope. :-)
