I have some friends who'd love to make a copper pipe potato gun.

If that guy and [livejournal.com profile] deyo ever get together, look out.

Send your friends This link (http://www.spudtech.com/) and then avoid them for a while. It might be hazardous to be too close for some time.

I have a realtively modest spud gun that is intended to fire tennis balls. The tennis ball is weighted and has a string attached. Fire tennis ball over tree, use string to pull rope over, use rope to pull up wire antenna on field day.

Useful toy. And it makes SUCH a cool noise. ;-)

Shrapnel is shrapnel, but I think I'd rather use some sturdy PVC. ;-)

Occasionally I have to repeat to myself, "I am not as clever as I think I am, and I am not indestructible." Then I continue with whichever high-energy project is currently in progress.

And plans are in the works for a bigger one, too.

I'm Chuck, the unstable nerd responsible for that copper monstrosity.

My compliments! :-) I'd enjoy seeing info on the bigger one when you get that going, too.

Keep checking www.wobblygeek.org/blog. Most every weekend, my friend and I build something else that we probably shouldn't, and I finally got off my duff and started posting about it.

The larger version should be up soon.

Darn you overacheivers. Now I have to get my butt in gear and make the railgun that I've been putting off for years...
