Day 8: Hair

I have short hair now. (Yes, everybody who keeps telling me what I should do, I did donate to Locks of Love.)

Need new user icons.

Also, a New England reminder: I forgot the noises a whole lakeful of ice can make. I'd never have thought to describe it when I lived here, but now that I've been away I recognize it as something I don't hear in California.

i can't believe you finally did it!! do you feel naked? did you get a huge headache just after the cut?

i love the new 'do! it makes you look so grown-up! *musses up your hair because i can* hurry back to where it's warm-ish, and go for a ride in a convertable! then go swimming! and then marvel at how quickly your hair dries. and how little shampoo you need!

and thank you for donating your hair. i know your hair will (help) make a beautiful wig for a child that needs it.

No headache, but I still catch myself reaching to move it out of the way.

I poured out too much shampoo this morning -- even though I'd been warned!

i think i spent a month reaching for my phantom mane. only took a couple days to adjust the shampoo, though.

Yeah. I'm still conflicted about it. I wish I hadn't had to. But I must exercise, and that means I must swim.

and swimming is your only real option due to your feet. damn them. *hugs*

give yourself time to mourn this loss as well as all the others you've had. you're allowed to be angry about having to cut your hair, as long as you can move beyond it eventually (or at least that's what people keep telling me. it's easier for me to just stay mad)

You're exactly right -- it's yet another loss. I try to make the best of it in public, but yeah, grump.
