The links sent out in LiveJournal "reply to your comment" notifications just got much worse. They are now long enough that they wrap, requiring two iterations of cut and paste, and if you don't edit out the 3D after each equals sign, they don't work.
Ptui.
My LJ usage is about to go WAY down.

Sigh. Sorry. Just having a real bad day here. 99% unrelated to LiveJournal.

I hope it's all resolved soon.

I notice the horrid links are only for comments that are in my journal (replies to my journal entries, or replies to comments that eventually trace back to my journal entries). Links given for comments that trace back to other people's journals are still okay. Wonder whether everyone else gets horrid-style links for stuff in their own journal and nice ones for not-their-own journals, or whether everyone gets horrid-style links for MY journal, or what. Grrrr. Pain in the *ss.
Re:
That's also my long answer :).
But if you want to complain, the support request form is here:

I think it's worth mentioning.

I count 55 characters there. Should fit in an 80 character screen.
(I sympathize with you about the MIME and other stuff. While I do read MIME on Netscape, there's enough other stuff that I deal with where people assume stuff that's just not universal - like MS formats.)
And if you want a reply to something of mine posted, you're welcome to send it to me at wcg(at)livejournal.com - I'll post it for you, if it'll keep your charming presence in my LJ entries.

Yeah, that one's still the good format 'cause it's not in your own journal. I'll reply to one of your journal entries and you can see whether you get the long version.
It wouldn't be quite so bad if the stupid 3D (inserted by MIME) didn't have to be erased as well.

Yeah! Our company intranet has lots of links that I presume must do something useful in some common browser. In Netscape, that little-known and little-used browser apparently unsupported by our web staff, they have to be saved as a "something.lnk" file which must then be executed separately. Ptui.

(grin) thanks! I'll still do it, I figure, just less. Cut and paste once is enough of a pain. Cut and paste twice (or once plus some typing from memory) in addition to a little editing is definitely a bit more of a barrier.
