The Language Fairy has crafted a magic spell and set it adrift on gossamer wings. :-)

(Yeah, I'm being mysterious. But I *love* playing "The __________ Fairy"! Sometimes I'm a Foot Fairy, or a Sure-I-Have-Some-Painkillers Fairy... today I'm the Language Fairy. Poof! *tinkling fairylike laughter*)

I've been various things... the Halloween Duckie Fairy, the GPSr Fairy, the Asthma Fairy. It's always fun to pass things along to people who need them more than I do, or those who would be amused by the more frivolous fairy deeds. I blame the 2400-Baud-Modem Fairy, who started it with me a decade ago.

the 2400-Baud-Modem Fairy

Oh, that is excellent! The techie gadget with "fairy" is deliciously surreal. I almost wish I had a 2400-baud modem so I could use the phrase 2400-Baud Modem Fairy.

Back in college we used to have occasional visits from the Toast Fairy. Toast would appear thumbtacked to the bulletin boards on everyone's dorm room door.

[livejournal.com profile] deyo is a fabulous Coffee Fairy, especially for one neither very into coffee, nor much of a fairy. ;)

Oh yes. [livejournal.com profile] rfrench is a great Wine Fairy despite similar seeming-limitations! :-)

After my undertaking this morning, how about The Registration Fairy. Soon to be followed by The Bursar Fairy? ;-)

Bwahahaha! 8-) Um, good luck!

Ooh. I have a couple of people I'd like you to whack with your magic wand then, please. :)

I'll be only too happy to whack certain people with my magic wand.

(It's detachable.)

tee hee! I call mine The Attribute! As in, I know why they wouldn't listen when I said it in the meeting, I didn't have The Attribute. And thus a name is born.

I've heard an apocryphal story about a woman who kept hers in a drawer. For particularly egregious conversations she'd whip it out just to demonstrate that she had one.

ooh! the language fairy, eh? at first i thought you meant something completely different (more along the linds of Grammar Police) but now that i figured out what you mean, i can't wait til the Language Fairy lands and does her thing. *insert evil cackle here*

Yes, many kinds of fairy are fun.

I have a friend who is the PC *computer* fairy. But he does not with to be a fairy, so we renamed him the Computer Elf.

Personally, there are a few fairies I'm hoping to get to come and visit, but I also want a house elf to come by now and then.

Regular visits from a house elf would be most excellent.
