OK, I used up all my creativity on that last story, so I have no clever scenario to describe the arrival of

A CHOCOLATE CAKE

on my desk today. :-) Heh! CHOCOLATE! An ENTIRE CAKE! With candles, and accompanied by a "Happy Birthday" balloon, even! I have a short meeting right now, and in about fifteen minutes my entire team is going to be treated to caaaaaaaake.

(Hmm. Surely I could have come up with something involving aliens. Surely.)

Bwahaha! (I forgot to ask if I could keep mine.) So how are you feeling?? I saw your post, and it's hot and you have the windows shut, but how ARE ya? (At the very least you made it through the procedure!!)

I'm doing pretty good. I want some FOOD, though. Everything I'm supposed to eat today is not food, it is dessert. I never thought I'd whine about getting dessert first -- and I made chocolate pudding last night -- but damn, I'm hungry for something that's not sweet.

The anaesthetic has worn off, and (possibly thanks to the vicodin I took at 2:00 as feeling started to return) nothing significantly hurts yet. The IV sedation made the procedure REALLY easy -- had I known ahead of time, I could have spared myself a lot of anxiety. I also thought it was really cool of the assistant/nurse to ask if I wanted the tooth, because I hadn't occurred to me.

Yeah, even some broth is better than one more serving of pudding, huh? I also managed mashed potatoes pretty early in my recovery. (I never got a list of stuff. They sent me home and said "don't drive a car.")

YAY nothing hurting much! YAY!

IV sedation is good stuff. I'm glad it made things easy for you! It's always so much better to get past an event and say "Phew, I didn't need to be nervous." :-)

Lemme know if you don't get your get well card in a day or two. It's on its way. Also holler if you need another get well card. joedecker takes beautiful photographs and I have a whole box of his cards. :-)
