I'm making very good progress. I can now get around better without the crutches than with, although a walker would probably still be better -- safer, at least -- than either. Preparing simple food is easier because my balance has improved enormously: moving a plate from the oven to the counter is no longer a carefully launched near-fall with a sudden countertop grab at the end. I can do stairs upright. I can even wiggle my toes and flex my ankles a little. At this rate by Monday I'll be tap dancing.
I am about to attempt a shower. No getting a drop of water on either foot, no standing up. Ah, the comedic potential!

Hey, I got the card you and Toni sent! That's so sweet of you -- and the card you chose is incredibly appropriate, too. A turtle with his feet in the air! Thank you.

While I was sitting there I did think it would be interesting to try to make a SFW photo (I could hold up a towel, maybe) to add to my foot surgery gallery.

Heh. I didn't say that, either, just that you didn't have to post them. E-mail works. You could have gotten
Seriously, though, a SFW photo would have been interesting to add to the collection.

Hot tubbing is a better image than that awkward shower anyway!

I have numb feet, but it's from neuropathy...feels like somebody pasted cardboard to the bottom of my feet, and sometimes they tingle.
Here's hoping and praying that this surgery did the trick and you'll soon be up and about and dancing on the bar!!! And running again. Yay!!! All my fingers and toesies are crossed in hopes of a cure for ya, sweet lady! Take it slow...pace yourself...one step at a time. Right? Gentle megahugs!!

I am starting to think tingles are a common thing with any kind of nerve damage. I'm getting tingles where I used to have real sensations. I used to get tingles when the neuromas were at their worst. You get tingles with neuropathy. Hmm.
Thank you for your good wishes, and I promise I'll behave and pace myself!
