I sprawled on the floor in the living room with my laptop in front of me, figuring I'd just check LiveJournal for a moment, and now I can't get up to do something else. I am trapped. There is a cat sleeping on my spine.

[edit: Kimberly, that's just about the exact pose! I could feel her purring, on my tailbone.]

[another edit: [livejournal.com profile] amywithani, that would be Little Girl. Figured you'd be amused!]

Let us know if you need us to come by with supplies... ;-)

One SuDoKu puzzle, some beading supplies, a crochet hook, and lunch... :-) Just kidding. She got hungry before I did, apparently. It's soooo cute when they do things like that, though!

"Oh no, cat got your spine?"

*hug*

I suppose it's less awkward than "cat got your tongue". Well, less fur in the mouth, anyway! *hugback*

It could be:

Tribble got your tongue?
Tribble got your tongue and chin?
Tribble got your tongue and nose and chin and eyes?
etc. ;)

hee hee ... yeah ... isn't it the best?! and yes ... you are well and truly trapped, for sure!

I should figure a way to make that a usable/showable picture ;) I just like it the way it is ;)

It's a great pic! And of *course* it's Scampi -- a friendly climb-all-over-people cat! In my case it was Little Girl, also a friendly climb-all-over-people cat. I almost didn't have the courage to step up and adopt her as she'd be kitty number three, and I'm sooooo lucky to have her.

yeah, she's definitely a friendly little bugger ... she loves hanging out on shoulders, and she's perfectly happy to grace cat-friendly folks with her neckly presence:

That was at our last craft night, and that's [livejournal.com profile] auros who is also, obviously, a kitty-person :)

I could covet Scampi. She's so endearing!

I should say, however, that Smokey and Winky have both been known to trap me in similar manners.

Duchess and [livejournal.com profile] jackiecat might do it very rarely, but Little Girl could make a habit out of it. :-)

*grin* I've had Natasha do that to me!

Natasha also likes shoulders... at least when there's a bug on the ceiling & shoulders are the best way to get closer to it!

Oo, I bet that last could be painful!

It's good to have a sense of ownership over one's person. ;)
Monday, July 25th, 2005 01:43 am (UTC)
Little Girl is VERY certain of her ownership of her new human! :-)

Even without cats ... I understand. It's much like what happens when a 10-pound California Desert Tortoise stretches out on one's chest or stomach during TV-watching and goes to sleep. If I laugh, sneeze, or otherwise move my chest, I can feel a single beady little eye half opening and glaring at me balefully, "What, are you moving and disturbing my rest AGAIN?!"

Exactly! :-)

There's a 15 minute hobby for you! Cat pillow! It's short, it can be interrupted, it's cheap, it doesn't involve standing up, and it brings joy to animals. Sheesh, they'd probably give you a medal to some sort. :)
