I added an extra link to my watch band this morning. When it's tight enough that the outer surface is what's flush with my skin, well, then it's about time, right? I finally got a Round Tuit. I have one of those little tools to extract the pins, so it was easy.

Just a few minutes ago I was sitting at my desk and felt an odd sensation at my wrist. Ah yes, I thought only semi-consciously, of course, it's looser now.

Then my watch beautifully and gracefully fell off my wrist.

Oops.

I held very still. I bent my head to look down at my clothing. I moved one part of my body at a time. Sure enough, sitting on my chair was the pin that should have held it together. The watch clasp was still closed and it had separated right at the new link.

I put it back together with my thumbs. I shouldn't have been able to do that. Now I need that pin to get a little dirtier or something, so the friction is sufficient to keep it in place. Maybe that's where the sealing wax comes in.

It's amazing how a niftyspiff tool can make us happy. I remember trying to chang links with a paperclip once.

The right tool makes a job like that so much easier! Same for changing body-piercing jewelry -- I have pliers where the nose pushes *out* when you squeeze the handles, which makes it simple to get a bead out of a heavy ring. Without those things it's a royal pain.

Hmm, really? That would actually be a cool tool to have with regualr jewelry. Neat!
