The divots on the top of my foot (around the fourth metatarsal head) are returning. This means the swelling's down a bit.* Pretty good for having ditched Indocin two weeks ago.

O'course, it also means I still lack all the little muscles that are supposed to be in there. (When I first saw this particular physical therapist he told me all the little muscles inside my foot are atrophied. No shock -- I haven't used them normally in over a year.) I'm faithfully doing my exercises. Maybe one day I won't have hollow bits on the top of my foot.

Got taped up again, strapping across the plantar arch and up over the instep. Very, very nice. I am told that stronger foot muscles will some day help my foot hold itself together without the tape.

* I don't know why yet. It could be due to physical therapy (from one place or both), or one or more of my oils and lotions. Maybe I'm simply stabilizing again after going off Indocin. It might be a temporary effect of the Neosporin Plus Pain Relief I slathered on last night to get me through the fancy dinner. Or, y'know, I could just randomly be having a good inflammation day.

I sure hope the tape helps. Does it allow you to 'use' your feet, or just reduce the pain when you're not using them?

The pain when I'm not using them is about the same, but the tape reduces the pain when I am using them. It still hurts, but my gait is much healthier. Feels weird :)

Yay for the swelling going down!

Cheers for stronger foot muscles!

I need a device that will record the visuals my brain generates when reading sentences like that. There are no words I can come up with to describe it. :-)

Here's hoping the tape helps.
