I may have to face the fact that I'll never get better. What would I do if I knew right this moment that I would never again walk without pain?

The Never Get Better To Do List
1. Apply for disabled parking placard.
2. Cut my hair. Ditch gym membership, get a Y membership. Begin swimming.
3. Quit square dancing.
4. Get an electric scooter, all-terrain if possible. Maybe buy a new car to accommodate it.

I'm holding off on doing those things because I cling to the hope that I'll get better. In some ways the worst part is not knowing either way for sure. My life is on hold until a miracle occurs.

Maybe I should set a deadline. How long am I willing to stay on hold, given that it's already been a year and a half and given that miracles aren't looking likely?

Doesn't seem odd at all to me. :/

Hot pink dye unfortunately won't coexist well with swimming either. :P

Went to see the doctor again today. He emphasized the importance of not just abandoning exercise - you have to find the exercise you can do with your injury. So I'll run, & you swim, because I can't.

Aw, no hot pink dye in the pool? Darn.

Too bad we can't just trade injuries from time to time. Monday, I swim and you run; Tuesday, other way round...

*sigh*

It's not so much the pool that's the problem. :) The dye will just fade faster & you'll have to redye it every 2-3 weeks. That's a little too annoying for me, but YMMV.

We should do dinner next week.

Oh! I see. Temporary is good, 'cause then I can dye it forest green sooner. :-)

Definitely dinner next week. Pinging you about that was comin' up soon on my mental guitar.
