There's a brand-new, never-found-yet (as of last night) geocache near the edge of a shopping area close to my house. Last night I ACHED to get over there to see if I could find it and be first! But no, a) Rob's handheld GPS receiver which I'd need to borrow was in his airplane, b) I could not drive over there 'cause I'd had a glass of wine, c) I sure as heck couldn't walk, not on these feet over a mile one way, d) Rob was worried about his upcoming checkride

**TODAY**, everyone wish him well

and didn't want to drive me over for a probably-fruitless search with no GPS receiver. I looked at the listing and saw that one person who had found thirteen hundred caches had failed to find it. Me with no GPSr, in the dark -- no way. I sighed and went to sleep.

Well, this morning I headed over to the drugstore for my latest prescription. You know you're pretty @#$! up when you buy one of those little pill-minders with slots for "morning", "noon" etc and your meds don't fit in the boxes. (Or else I'm taking way too many vities.) After I got my prescription I thought what the heck, I'll at least drive by the place where the X showed this geocache. It's right by the drugstore. Why not?

I saw a guy in a blue truck pull up to a very undesirable parking space just where I was aiming. Darn. I pulled behind the drugstore and made a U-turn. By the time I came back around, he was standing in the parking lot with his GPS receiver in his hand, looking intently at it. He looked up when he saw me and I made a hand signal through the windshield: ME TOO (point to self, 2 fingers). He grinned.

If no one had found it earlier that morning, he'll probably be first. I half wonder if I should have asked to tag along with him so he could log the find and I could drop off my travel bug. :)

Yeah, I'd NEVER fit in one that has a slot for each day. My meds, vities, and supplements for a whole day don't even fit in a film canister. (Glucosamine/chondroitin is a volume hog, as is flaxseed oil.)

I've been using a little formed-plastic tray I stole from a small box of chocolates. I do like the little covers that snap closed, though. That lets me dump a pile out into my hand without disturbing other piles. Very convenient.

Gah, it's true. I'm sixty.

Gah, it's true. I'm sixty.

Have you ever tried this Real Age (http://www.realage.com/) test? At 39, it told me I was 34.

Euphemism? ;-)

It asks for an e-mail address, claiming that it will neither send mail without my permission nor sell the address. However, it won't accept a fake. Um, sure, I really believe a site who says it won't use the address but refuses to proceed without one! Oh well - I know my real age anyway. Somewhere in the sixties.

Ah, yeah, I forgot about that. I have it directed to my Yahoo! e-mail, which is where I send most stuff like that, as most of what I get there is spam anyway. Shame - the questions on the test are pretty throrough, but I don't blame you at all for not doing it.

Bean uses the kind with slots for times. I use one of the GINORMOUS ones, that just has a box for each day, and I dump it out in my hand, poke around until I find the ones I need now (morning, afternoon, night), and put the rest back.

It worked okay until I got put on supplements that come in big gelcaps, and I have to take, um, 6+4+~4+~4 = 14 or so per day. Plus vitamins and prescription drugs. Now I take the morning doses, and then refill the box with the later doses. Oy, I'll be glad when I've healed my adrenal system.

And the click-closed lids are nice. But they *do* open if you drop the whole thing on the floor....

Yeah, I've got 15 large things (gluc/chondroitin, big gelcaps, MSM) and 6 medium-sized caplets (stinging nettle) and 2 slightly smaller caplets (NSAID). My "morning" takes up two slots on the morning/noon/evening/night box! :-)

Oo, thanks for the warning -- I'll try to avoid dropping it. That'd be a mess.

Glucosamine/chondroitin is a volume hog, as is flaxseed oil.

I use the MoveFree Triple Strength (http://www.schiffvitamins.com/productsearch_results.asp?p=175) so I only have to take two pills a day. It's not that much more expensive when you figure the daily cost. The local supermarket chain puts them on half-price special every so often, and at that price the brand name is very cost-effective.

Do you put the flaxseed capsules in your pillbox each day? I had to stop taking it because it has to be refrigerated, and I could never remember to take them. I have two enormous weekly organizer boxes (http://www.harriscomm.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=17523) that I fill every two weeks, and I couldn't put the flaxseed in because it would go bad sitting around that long. Now I sprinkle a couple tablespoons of crushed flaxseed on my cereal every morning instead. It's delicious and I get the same benefit (plus the fiber).

Gah, it's true. I'm sixty.

Then what does that make me?! Image

Yeah, last time I priced triple-strength I couldn't sit around and wait for a sale 'cause I was out. My next bottle is triple strength. :)

I also take extra.

I fill the pillbox each day. My pillbox is only one day big. But I'm bad about refrigerating that stuff. :-(

You're, uh, fifty-nine?? I actually don't know how old you are!
