I had an EXCELLENT weekend.

1. Friday night, Jackie slept on me! Rob was square dancing out of town, so I got to sleep with the cat. Purrrrrrrrrrrrr :-). I love my cat cat cat!

2. Saturday, I danced C4! Well, not on my own; I had help from the others in the square. It was a tape-group workshop for a bunch of people whose skills could use some polishing up. I was the least experienced but probably not the worst person to dance with -- I at least KNEW I was a loser, and could adjust quickly when I'd goofed. Several people said I was "doing fine" and asked me to come back again.

3. Thoroughly enjoyed waking up Sunday morning. No further details. :-)

4. Breakfast at the Original Pancake House. Mmmmmmmmmm.

5. Rob and I spent a LOT of Sunday cleaning up around the house. I scrubbed algicide into the moss that's growing on our driveway. The spot I killed with bleach last year is still moss-free, but it took way too long and way too much elbow grease to do that very small spot. I hope the algicide is better. That area is really ugly right now 'cause we're not supposed to rinse it for a few days. Then we went through the storage room and cleaned out one set of steel shelves, sorting Rick's old stuff. Much of it was junk. Some is yard-sale material. Some we'll have homes for soon (the ammo reloading equipt). Anybody need an HP 9000? New in box. Or how about five or six telephones?

6. Rob and I got a chance to talk last night. It wasn't that we Needed To Talk about anything serious. We're usually so caught up in the day to day trivia, though, that we don't get much chance to have a really good conversation about anything in particular. I love it when we get talk time. And yes, we had a fire going and nice music and Jiffy Pop. Two purring cats nestled nearby. Life is good!

Congrats on a cool weekend. Mine was pretty spiff too.

HP 9000? Izzata a workstation? A printer? What're the phones like?

HP 9000 = workstation, presumably built to run HP/UX. No monitor (although we have lots of those around too). Was pretty good in its day but its day has passed. Faster than a Sparc 1. Slower than anything Pentium-based. But ya can't beat free.

We have some kind of printer, too, new in box, came free with some computer or other. Color InkJet if I remember right. Gotta go look.

And an external disk for... an Amiga!! Hm.

The phones are now CLEAN. (It is amazing what living in a very, very dusty room for three years will do to an object. We did mondo cleaning yesterday.) There are two desktop-style sorta-big-button phones, one blue, one black; there's an ivory colored business-looking phone, may even be two-line; and two "princess" or "slimline" style whitish phones. I think there may be another I'm forgetting. None of 'em is cordless or has any kind of display on it. But they all seem to work.

Hmm. Might be nice to have a functional UNIX machine at home. We've ot a printer that works fairly well, but I might be interested in the HP machine.

You coming to coffee on Tuesday?

Dunno yet, but I'm sure we could arrange something. I must admit I have NO clue whether this machine has, say, install disks... it just has whatever comes in the box. I'll tell Rob you're interested, so he won't pitch it in a dumpster just yet. :)
