The phone is dangerous. I should stay away from that thing.

Made two new appointments: 1) new podiatrist, second opinion kind of thing, 2) a myofascial therapy place (thanks for the recommendation, [livejournal.com profile] ambar!) I suspect these will both be expensive. Ka-ching! That phone. There oughtta be a law prohibiting its use because people like me might use it to spend money. <--that is sarcasm.

The podiatrist will at best be confused, as the gal taking my information over the phone did not understand a whit of it. She definitely got it wrong ("shots are painful", she wrote) and didn't have the time to straighten it out. I'd been on hold five or six minutes already and she got me off the phone with dispatch. So the doctor will have to get a clue on my time and my dollar. (Surprise.) Fortunately, she comes well-recommended and is therefore probably smart.

The myofascial thingy will probably be ongoing and REALLY hurt the wallet. However, it's a whole different approach. One podiatrist has already not fixed this; maybe podiatrists aren't the way to go. This appointment isn't until July, so to save my budget I have four months to find any other way to fix this. :-)

Worst case, I'll learn more of what doesn't work.

I am now putting the phone as far from me as possible. This is all that phone's fault.

This is a Good Thing (can we still say that, now that Martha Stewart is a jailbird?) to spend your money on. Go, you.

(I have told you about my worst phone-spending incident? The $300 worth of magazines, right?)

I remember that! A telemarketing thing, wasn't it? Yikes. I am positive that ANSWERING the phone is never, ever, ever a good idea. Not once in my life have I had someone telephone me for *my* benefit.

dinner with Lisa and me at that Indian place many years ago wasn't for your benefit?

but i agree. i don't answer my phone at home, and love having caller ID at work.

You called me that time? I may have to revise my "never ever"!

well, you made the initial "hi i'm here" call and got my machine, and i called you back. not sure who did the final plans, as three people in three states makes for complex planning.

By the way, it's officially been TOO LONG since we did that. we need to kidnap Lisa, drag her back here, and go to dinner. I wonder if the Thai place near me is still in business?

Or you and Lisa need to kidnap me for some kushari -- or Lisa and I need to drag you to California for, um, any of the many yummy things around here!

This is why I plan to be rich some day. (Or take over the world, whichever comes first.) I want to be able to pull off stuff like that.
