I just snagged a copy of Patterson & Hennessy from my local freecycle mailing list. It's the first edition, while what I've been borrowing is the second, but the basics didn't change that much in four years and I doubt I need web references anyway.

I pick it up tomorrow evening. For FREE. Score!

It's wonderful. I've given away stuff that I *knew* Goodwill wouldn't take, and that I couldn't bear to toss in a landfill. That's a good feeling.
